How we check listings
Where listings come from
We build each season’s lists from venues’ Google Business profiles, their own websites and pages, and official sources (councils, tourism boards, organisers). We don’t copy other people’s listicles, and we don’t list a venue we couldn’t find a live source for.
The checked date
Every listing shows the date we last checked it. In season, lists are re-checked weekly. A listing that says “Checked 12 Sep 2026” means a human (with some robot help) confirmed the venue existed and its details on that date — not that we have visited in person, unless the listing says so.
What the badges mean
- Dates confirmed 2026 — the venue has published this season’s dates and we’ve seen them.
- Awaiting 2026 dates — the venue ran last season and hasn’t confirmed this one yet; we show what we know and keep checking.
- Not running this year — confirmed not happening. We say so rather than deleting it, so you’re not left wondering.
Ratings and reviews
Star ratings and review counts shown on listings are Google review figures at the time of checking. They’re the public’s view, not ours.
Money and independence
Venues can pay for a featured position, and featured listings are always labelled. Payment never adds a venue we wouldn’t list or removes an honest badge. Some outbound links may become affiliate links; that never affects ordering or inclusion.
Corrections
Wrong date, closed venue, moved event? Email hello@seasonhopper.co.uk and we’ll fix it — usually same day in season.
